║ ** 'SUGAR.EXE', a DOS program, may be installed FROM a Floppy or ║
║ ** your Hard Drive but MUST be installed ON your Hard Drive!! ║
║ 1. Copy 'SUGAR33.ZIP' to a Floppy or to a selected Directory on ║
║ your Hard Drive. ║
║ 2. Change (CD) to the selected Hard Drive directory. ║
║ 3. Enter the command PKUNZIP A:SUGAR31 or PKUNZIP B:SUGAR31 or just ║
║ PKUNZIP SUGAR33 (as appropriate). *(Note TM at end) ║
║ The 9 files READ_ME.sug, SUGAR(.exe/.dbf/.ntx/.mem), SUGARBRO.com ║
║ SUGARINS(.dbf/.lin), and FILE_ID.diz will be extracted to the ║
║ Hard Drive. ║
║ 4. A copy of 'SUGAR33.ZIP' should be retained on a floppy as backup. ║
║ * You may share this software with others however do not give them ║
║ * Your DATA files. Give them only SUGAR33.ZIP !!! ║

: 'SUGAR.EXE' is a DOS program compiled in CLIPPER*, and does not require
any Runtime software modules or files other than supplied. None of the files,
programs or routines contained herein require any payment to the publishers
of the Libraries and Languages used to create 'SUGAR'. Being 'Shareware'
and not 'Freeware', payment to the author of the program is expected. [NOTE1]

SUGAR.EXE The Main Program
SUGAR.DBF A Database that holds your Blood Glucose and Insulin records
SUGAR.NTX The Index for the SUGAR.DBF based on dates.
SUGAR.MEM A File of program variables that are maintained by the program.
SUGARINS.DBF A Database which maintains your Insulin Type changes.
SUGARINS.LIN A Text File that you may modify with an ASCII text editor and
contains a listing of available Insulin types for your selection.
SUGARBRO.COM An assembly language screen-by-screen Text Browser.
: You are STRONGLY urged to make a DISKCOPY of the distribution diskette
which occupies approximately 198 Kbytes. Use of 'BACKUP DATA' in the
'MAINTENANCE' Menu will allow you to save ALL 5 Data files on a DSDD 5 1/4"
diskette. After 7 years you may have to use a High Density floppy for 23 to 28
years of data backup! Beyond 2000 has been taken care of, don't worry. If your
programs and data get wiped out just re-install the Original Distribution Disk
and then use the 'MAINTENANCE' Menu's 'RESTORE DATA' to be back at the point
of your last 'BACKUP'. F1 for Setup Help. -PgDn/Up-
: 'SUGAR' requires a DOS environment with 410 Kbytes of free ram and will
automatically sense and adjust for the type of monitor.
: FEATURES:
SCHEDULE from 1 to 4 Blood Glucose Readings & Insulin shots per day.
PRESET the usual Dosage for each of these shots.
SELECT types of insulin used. Make future changes in Insulin types yourself.
CHANGE Name & Address, Printer Emulation & Ports, Menu & Screen Colors, etc
INDEX, BACKUP & RESTORE Data files. Label Backup diskettes.
INPUT, CORRECT & REVIEW Blood Glucose Data for any selected dates. See [Note2]
PRINT or BROWSE Insulin Usage & Blood Glucose Data. (Parallel Printer)
PRINT WEEKLY blank Blood Glucose Log for temporary record keeping between
RECORD INPUT sessions. (Parallel Printers)
VIEW settings. Compute replacement dates of Insulin, Strips, Syringes & Lancets
Each Pull-Down Menu item has a line 24 Description of the selected action.
[Note1]: A REGISTRATION FORM may be printed from within the 'UTILITIES' Menu.
[Note2]: The Demonstration Data may be deleted (ZAP'd) when desired.
